UNICEF Commends Sotto for Upholding Children’s Rights to Movies on Christmas

Senator Tito Sotto

New York, USA – Despite the mockery of citizens after his bold comment against the film choices in the recent 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), Senator Tito Sotto has gained the praise and commendation of international bodies including the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

According to UNICEF Ambassador Priyanka Chopra, they were moved by Senator Sotto’s valiant advocacy for children’s rights to watch uncomplicated movies that can make them laugh on Christmas Day.

“Senator Sotto’s dedication to children and their happiness is really astounding,” said Chopra. “We are looking into the possibility of inviting him in this year’s UNICEF Children’s Champion Award Dinner in Boston.”

Sotto expressed his gratitude for the honor and called for the exclusion of intellectual movies in the MMFF since children and even some adults can’t understand them.
