Virginia, USA – International animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals or PETA has released a statement saying they will file legal complaints against individuals and publications who compare politicians to animals, particularly dogs and pigs.

In the statement, PETA has urged individuals to refrain from associating kind and innocent animals into the corruption and other wrongdoings of politicians as it can be considered emotional and mental abuse to animals.

“We stand by our motto that animals are not ours to abuse in any way and comparing them to dirty, disgusting politicians who only think about themselves and their love of power is completely vile and immoral to the highest level,” the statement said. “We will not hesitate to file cases against anyone who adds to the suffering of the poor animals.”

The past few months have seen a significant increase in instances of individuals and activist blogs who have passionately associated politicians with household and farm animals including dogs, prompting action from the distraught animal rights group.
