Quezon City – In its move to boost the morale of Manileños, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has declared that the traffic on EDSA in which the country is world-famous for is only deemed to be enjoyed by residents of Metro Manila.
Commuters from nearby provinces are banned from enjoying the metro traffic using the existing modes of transportation. In a press release, the Metro Manila Council referred to the EDSA traffic as a privilege that should only be granted primarily to Manila residents.
“We owe it to ourselves to enjoy this first hand since it is only through our collective efforts that this has become possible,” said MMDA Chairman Emerson Carlos.
Non-Manila residents will have to apply for a special permit to experience the traffic but it will only be valid for 5 days after which they will have to get a new one.
