Manila – Alarmed by the dreadful English spelling and grammar in most Facebook arguments, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar announced that they are pushing for a better English curriculum for students as early as the first grade.
Andanar told reporters that the Communications team are always monitoring Facebook comments to see the public reaction to the current events. He admitted to feeling terrible upon reading some of the comments because of the sorry state of their grammar.
“I will personally ask Secretary Briones of DepEd to enhance further the English curriculum in elementary and high school,” said Andanar. “This is to ensure that I personally don’t get cancer from the Facebook comments that I read. If you can’t even properly insult another person in English, it’s better not to use English at all.”
