Religious Group Urges Government to Recruit Prayer Warriors Against Typhoons

Manila – An evangelical religious group calls upon the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) to consider hiring religious individuals to pray away incoming typhoons.

In a Facebook post on Thursday afternoon, October 20, Ralph Reyes, head pastor of the Evangelical Christian Mission Church of the True Son of God urged the NDRRMC to open the government’s doors to what they call “Prayer Warriors” who will try and pray nonstop whenever a new typhoon is detected by PAGASA.

“We have always been victims of typhoons every year,” said Reyes. “We always rely on man-made instruments but none of those can save us from typhoons, let alone change their course. Prayers and faith from Prayer Warriors are the only ways in which we can alter the course of devastation.”

Reyes disclosed that their church already has 20 devoted members who can take on the vital job of praying away typhoons.

“We call on other churches to help us push this through. If this becomes successful, we can extend the power of prayer against other disasters such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions,” concluded Reyes.
