Manila – In a gesture of genuine Christian character, supporters of Marcos’ burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani call upon the government and the public to forgive and stop the harassment of Senator Leila de Lima who has been accused of graft and corruption related to the proliferation of drugs in Bilibid.
“Let’s stop the hate and move on,” said Jeffrey Macario, 24. “We will not achieve national unity if we don’t forgive whatever mistakes of our leaders. Let’s just pray for them and love one another.”
Netizens rally online to stop the namecalling and harassment of Senator De Lima amidst the investigations done by the police and the Department of Justice. Several Facebook groups and pages have been created to promote the petition to forgive De Lima so she can work in peace.
Politicians also echo the sentiment in support of their colleague. Senator Manny Pacquiao was first to call for the forgiveness of his co-senator in a privilege speech in the senate.
