DOTr Orders Removal of Windshield Wipers for Distracting Drivers

Manila – The Department of Transportation has ordered the removal of windshield wipers from all kinds of vehicles around the country. This is in line with the implementation of the Anti-Distracted Driving Act.

“Since we want all objects off the dashboard and the windshield for obstructing the driver’s line of sight, it is only imperative that we order the removal of wipers,” said the DOTr. “Not only do they obstruct the driver’s view, they also distract the driver from focusing on the road because they keep waving in front of the driver’s face.”

The DOTr is also looking to recommend the banning of rain on all major highways since they also obstruct the driver’s view of the road.
